No, this is not a treatment option for Alzheimer's disease. This is a wildly exaggerated interpretation of a preclinical study demonstrating an already well-documented phenomenon. NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and mefenamic acid reduce neuroinflammation in transgenic mouse models of AD. The problem is that prospective trials of such drugs have repeatedly failed to treat or prevent progression of AD, so this phenomenon is of little clinical significance.
